You may be eligible to receive subsidised hearing services!
You may be eligible to receive assistance from the government to purchase your hearing aids. We are accredited to provide services for ACC noise-induced hearing loss claimants and for War Veterans. We are also accredited to provide partial funding for people who hold a Community Services Card.
Who is eligible?
ACC
ACC will contribute a portion to the cost of hearing aids & fitting fees, if you have an accepted claim for hearing loss caused by exposure to loud noise in your workplace. The ACC portion depends on your percentage of hearing loss caused by noise, less an amount deducted for age related hearing loss. It doesn’t matter when the noise exposure occurred, if you have a hearing loss and it is attributed to noise exposure ACC can help.
Contact us for more information about how to lodge a claim with ACC.
Veterans
Veterans Affairs provide complete cover for most people who served in the NZ Army, Navy or Airforce. They can also assist with claims for UK war veterans. Your local RSA welfare officer is the best person to ask about applying for hearing aid funding or

Children
Hearing aids are provided for by the Government through a 'Special Aid Fund'. All preschoolers, children and young people up to the age of 21 if in primary, secondary or tertiary education are eligible for this funding. Children’s hearing aids are fitted for free through most public hospitals. If you would prefer to be seen at Clarity we may charge a nominal fitting fee.

There are also other funding options available to adults who have had severe long-term hearing loss since childhood, or had onset of sudden and severe hearing loss during adulthood, or a dual disability (such as deaf/blind or hearing loss and an intellectual disability).

Beneficiaries
If you receive the pension or other benefits managed by WINZ, ask your WINZ case manager about whether you are eligible for a $1000 advance on your benefit or pension.
People on very limited incomes
In some regions there are local trust funds which exist to help people with hearing loss get hearing aids. Also, the NZAS manages a hearing aid bank specifically for people with few financial resources. These schemes require you to provide evidence of your financial situation as well as other personal details.
