Unhealthy Ears
The outer 2/3rd of the ear canal are composed of cartilage and contain glands that produce cerumen (ear wax), while the inner 1/3rd is surrounded by bone. Ear wax has many uses including – maintaining a consistent level of humidity, preventing dust and other objects from going deeper, and also to help prevent bugs from entering the ear canal. For most people ear wax will naturally work itself out of the ear canal. Cotton tip applicators should not be used to remove wax as it often pushes the wax further down the ear canal. This can also result in damage to the delicate walls of the canal. If wax impaction occurs it is applicable to visit Clarity Hearing for professional removal services of the wax.
